It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday; have you gotten her a gift yet?
If your mom is a tea lover we have a few ideas of what you could get her…errr, make for her that is.
Do-It-Yourself Mother’s Day Gifts
In a mom’s eyes, there’s no greater gift than something that came from the heart. So why not handcraft something you’re sure she will love?
Here are a few ideas for the mom that is a tea lover like us.
Tea Time Mason Jar
This one is really fun to put together and is completely customizable. It’s basically about product curation. Gather various tea products your mother would love and put them together in a mason jar.
You can go as far as to decorate the jar, just the lid or even just tie a ribbon around it with a tag. But that’s the point, it’s all up to your creative styling.
As for what to put in the jar? Find out what kind of tea your mother absolutely loves and put it in the jar.
Does she need a new tea infuser? Throw that in too.
Does she like to sweeten her tea? Throw in her favorite sweetener.
Be creative. Be unique.

Green Tea Scrub
Is your mother a beauty routine guru? Then why not give her a personalized body scrub this Mother’s Day?
It would be a great addition to your mom’s beauty routine and simple to make. Not to mention it leaves your skin feeling fresh and smooth. So don’t be afraid to save a little for yourself. 😉
All you need is:
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1/8 cup Grapeseed Oil
1/8 cup Brewed Green Tea (cooled)
1 bag of Green Tea (not brewed)
A bowl and spoon to mix with.
A decorative container with a tight lid to store the finished product in.

Tub Tea Collection
Here’s another “spa day” idea that’s sure to help moms relax away her worries.
Tub tea is great for any mother who wants to get away from it all for a while and just have a nice leisurely soak – it need not be just for your mom either. Give it to your favorite friends who are moms as well for Mother’s Day.
They are pretty simple to whip up and can be created in a variety of scents sure to please Mom. Get a little creative and create your own personalized scent that reminds you of her.
Then get creative with the packaging. You may want to consider sealing different scents into different containers or separating them somehow to keep from cross contaminating scents – which could turn out to be one heady disaster.
The basic list of what you need is this:
Coarse Sea Salt
Essential Oils of desired scent
Dried Herbs of desired scent
Large, Unbleached Tea Filters
Tea Cup Candles
Does your mom have any old teacups that are worn, cracked and unusable any longer? Sneak them away and repurpose them into candles!
OK, so that may not be as easy as it sounds. You can find used, vintage, and mis-matched teacups at local consignment stores or antique malls as well. Just make sure you check out the brand of the teacup before pouring wax into it, you never know if you’ve found a treasure worth a lot of money. 😉
It’s a great way to give a little ambiance to a room while indulging in her love of tea.
All you need is
Candle wax flakes
A double boiler
If you don’t have a double boiler, don’t worry. Just fill a pot with water and place a smaller pot, glass bowl or glass measuring cup inside the pot with water. As the water comes to a slow boil it will heat the small glass pot/bowl/measuring cup you’re using just as if it was a double boiler.
Creating your own candles are pretty easy. Check out this step-by-step tutorial (with pictures) from Hello Gorgeous.
Chai Latte Mix
Your mother a Chai lover? Then this is the gift for her.
Not only is Chai great on a cold day, but it’s awesome all year ’round – at least that’s our opinion.
You can make this mix and package it in a beautiful container. Your mom will love it and you forever – well, she probably already loves you regardless.
Here’s what you need:
2 cups Instant Black Tea Powder
1-3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
2 teaspoons Ground Ginger
2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ground Cloves
1 teaspoon Ground Cardamom
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon All-Spice
You just mix them all together thoroughly and pour into your clean (and completely dry) storage container.
Don’t be afraid to let your creative side go and decorate the container before you use it. Express yourself and decorate it in a style you know your mom will love.
Don’t forget the tag wishing your mom a Happy Mother’s Day!
So there you go…
These are just a few ideas of what to give your tea-loving mom for Mother’s Day. Getting creative and making your own gift is just a unique way to express how much you care, love, think and know about your mom.
